Prof Dr. k. Subba Rao obtained his B.E. degree from Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupati in 1974, and M.Tech & PhD in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1977 and 1998 respectively. He started his carrier as a lecturer in Dept. of ECE, OU. From Feb 1981 to Sep 1991, Associate professor from 1991 to Jan 2003. In Feb 2003 he is elevated as Professor currently he is the Head of the Department. He also served as chairman, BOS in ECE (OU).He is a member of Research Committee in BME and also selection committee member for selection of professors. He presented more than 50 papers in National and International Journals/Conference.
       As, Coordinator, he conducted 9 short term courses in the Dept. of ECE, in various Organizations and trained more than 300 scientists/Engineers and Staff of various Engineering colleges. Under SONET program, a series of lectures on ‘Digital Signal Processing’ subject as per the JNTU syllabus are recorded on CD’s (26 CD’s) and distributed to various engineering colleges. He has successfully completed two research projects as co-investigator sponsored by AICTE. Under industry institution program, M/s Analog Devices India, Bangalore has sponsored a research project in Multimedia Lab. The total cost of the project is Rs.50 lakhs. Dr. P. Lakshmi Narayana, NERTU is the co-investigator. Under this project two full time research scholars are working.                  

 His areas of research interest are Signal Processing & Signal Design and Modeling of Biological systems.
